Educational Planning, Support, and Advocacy
Decoding a mystifying process and turning it into JOY
WHO WE ARE
Meredith Gotlin is an educational consultant, holding two Master's Degrees in Education, one in Educational Leadership and Supervision, and one in Secondary Mathematics Education. Her work for over 16 years as a principal, an assistant principal and middle school mathematics teacher for the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) has been guided by her deeply held belief in equity for all children.
As a mother of three children who have attended a wide array of schools in New York City, she not only brings her professional experience to partner with families, but also her broad experience with the school system as a parent and advocate.
At Someplace to Start, Meredith believes her responsibility is to support, suggest and partner. Through working together, her ultimate goal is to help families make the best educational choices for their child(ren) and to empower parents/guardians with the tools to advocate effectively on their own.
